Admission Information for International Students of 2010
MBBS Program (English Medium)
Nanjing Medical University (NMU), founded in 1934, is one of the top institutions of higher Medical learning in China. Located in the beautiful city of Nanjing, which used to be the capitals of six ancient Chinese dynasties and is currently the capital of Jiangsu province. NMU has 3 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees, 35 second-level disciplines to confer doctoral degrees, 3 post-doctoral stations, 7 first-level disciplines to confer master’s degrees, 3 national key disciplines, 12 provincial key disciplines, 12 five- year programs, 2 six-year dual bachelor’s degree programs, and 3 seven-year programs. Currently more than 10,000 students are on campus during the academic year.

NMU has 19 affiliated hospital and over 30 teaching hospital in Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Huai an, Shanghai and Hangzhou. NMU has a strong faculty team of 1501 registered faculty members, including 159 full professors, 344 associate professors, 132 supervisors of doctoral programs and 386 supervisors of master’s programs.
 
 
NMU has 1 key laboratory at ministry level, 2 key laboratories co-established by the ministry and provincial government, 7 Provincial key laboratory and research centers.
NMU’s Library is the center medical library in Jiangsu province and the medical literature center of the university literature service system. The university library has a collection of over 1,220,000 volumes, including over 5,700 categories of periodicals in English and Chinese. 11 categories of academic periodicals, such as Journal of Nanjing Medical University, Clinical Dermatology, Clinical Neurology, Jiangsu Medicine and so on are sponsored by the university. Besides, the establishment of digital campus brought convenience to the teaching scientific research, management and study. Recently, NMU takes an active part in extensive exchange and cooperation by virtue of opportunity of the Internationalization of higher education.

The University has established bilateral relationship on academic exchange, and cooperation on scientific research and talents cultivation, between medical school and scientific research institutions in USA, Canada, Britain, Germany, Japan, france and Australia. Some prestigious expert and scholars are conferred Nanjing Medical University honorary or gust professorship. Meanwhile, it has sent 500 teachers abroad for long-term study or short-term visits. Sine 2002, the university restored to enroll International student and student from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. At present, the total number is over 500.

In 2010, with the approval of the State Educational Committee, Nanjing Medical University will recive 100 International students for undergraduate program (MBBS).

embryology, Regional anatomy, biochemistry and molecular biology, Physiology, pathology, immunology, pharmacology, Microbilogy, Medical genetics, Paraitology, Pathophysiology, medical ethics, Basic surgery, diagnostics, Nuclear medicine, Forensic medicine, Dermatology and venereology, epidemiology, Medical statistics, Community medicine, law of medicine, radiology , Psychiatry, Nurology, Anesthesiology, Ophthalmology, otolaryngology (E.n.T), Stomatology, Internal medicine, Surgery, obstetrics and Gynecology, Lemology, Rehabilitation medicine, Pediatrics, Organic chemistry, Public health management, hygienics, Traditional Chinese medicine, Emergency medicine. (Every semester’s curriculums will be opened according to the university arrangement at that time. Here only is a list.)
Admissions    
Finished high school studies, aged number 30 and healthy. Applicants have to apply for the admission. Applicants are required to pass HSK (band 3) before graduation, otherwise they cant’s get the degree.
  
Fee Structure (in RMB)    
Every student should pay off the following fees on registration day:
1. Registration fee : 500 yuan
2. Tuition : 34000 yuan
3. Accommodation fee: 8000 yuan per person per year.
4. Refundable deposit: 4000 yuan
    
Note: In the first academic year our university can supply the following things for free : 1) bedding 2 textbooks 3 hospitalization insurance 4 laboratory clothes 5 physical examination 6 residence permission for one year 7 campus card ( There is 200 RMB in it . This card can be used to buy food, bath and borrow the books from University’s library.
Application    
1. Registration Date : September of 2010
2. Application procedure
    

i) In March Nanjing Medical University send “The Application from for International Students” physical       Examination form for foreigners” to the agent company.
ii) The agent company arranges the applications to fill in the form and do the physical examination.
iii) Before the end of June the agent company should send the original application from and physical    examination form, including copies of blood tests, degree certification, and academic transcript to    School of International Education by post.
iv) School of international Education will issue the Admission Notice and Visa Application for Study in    China, namely JW202 form, to agent company.
v) Admitted application should go through the formalities of visa in Chinese embassies with JW 202 form. vi) Withdrawal and Refunds

Request for withdrawal should be made in written form to School of International Education

1. Registration fee and tuition fee are not refundable.
2. The accommodation fee Refundable will be calculated by month.
